Onegini introduced Multi-Factor Authentication at the Liferay Developer event. It was great to see the community embracing a solution like this. In this post we combined an FAQ, the full presentation and the slides in case you missed it. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
In short - What is the solution?
An out-of-the-box white labeled Multi-Factor Authenticator app you can use in your current Liferay environment. You can use it to provide an easier and more secure login for your employees or customers.
So I can add this solution without app developers?
Yes, this solution gets you started with multi-factor authentication for your Liferay environment with an app, but without app developers. This way you can start enrolling users within a month or so and later add business functionality to your app.
What does white-labeled mean?
Can I run this solution on premise?
Yes. You can run this as a SAAS solution or an on premise solution.
Do I need to upgrade to the latest liferay version to get this to work?
No, you can use this solution in your current project. With the latest version of Liferay or with the current.
Is this solution independent of Liferay? I can use it in another portal too?
Yes. Our partner Componence has built the Liferay related integration calling the Onegini API's. You can use the app in various environments independent of your programming language or platform.
Can I choose QR to login, Push with PIN or Face to login?
Yes, it's all included out of the box.
What do I need to get this to run in my Liferay Portal?
We can provide you with the API's or you can contact Componence to help you out with the implementation details.
So how do users register the app?
Out of the box we provide enrollment with QR for all users that login.
